Katrina
Ok, to satiate the desire of my faithful (and only) reader, I will update again. I don't have a lot of time but here is a speech I gave earlier this year to a small group of girls. I copied my speech directly so that is why it is written kinda different than I would normally write on a blog. Anyway, tell me what y'all think. Here is the link that I got all the info from. http://www.av1611.org/katrina.html Tell me what y'all (or should I say you meaning lisa since no one else comments) think.
Katrina Speech 5-8-06
Picture this: A family, husband, wife, 3 kids all under the age of nine, all huddled in a damp, windowless attic, the panic and fear crowding around them as real as the darkness surrounding them. Frantically, the husband is ramming an ax up against the roof of the attic, but to no avail. The roof won’t budge. They can feel and hear the water rising closer and closer to their escape as the father leads them in prayer for what may be the last time.
A nightmare? Most definitely. A scene from a movie? It has been seen many times on the screen. But this picture in your head was as real as you and me today. This is the story of numerous people, the details maybe changed, but the fear and panic, was the same. This is the story of Katrina – a grand display of what Mother Nature can do. Or, is it instead, the wrath of God punishing our country for what we have done against him?
Our country has been called a Christian Nation, although I can assure you, our nation is anything except Christian. So why should we be exempt from wrath of God? Especially, when we have gone directly against his word, and more specifically, helped kill his chosen people?
The bible deals with what will happen to Israel’s enemies in Psalms 83. In verses 3&4 it says “They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.” After this speech I am positive you will agree that that is exactly what our nation is doing, maybe not cutting them off ourselves, but rather helping israel’s enemies to do that. And what will be our consequence? The bible talks about many things, but one thing it mentions, is a storm, verse 15 says, “So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.” Does that sound like a threat, if you will, to you as much as it does to me? But “woah, wait a minute Alyssa” you may say, “The US is allies with Israel, not their enemies. So shouldn’t God be blessing us, rather than cursing us?” It is correct the Lord will bless them that bless Israel and curse them that curse them. And he is following out that, as if you look at what our nation’s leaders have done, you will see that they are not helping Israel and the Jewish people. But rather, they are being pawns in the devil’s game. Just as Adolph Hitler was during World War 2 and the Vatican during the inquisitions.
As you can see on the chart here, with decisions the US has made against Israel, usually in favor of the Palestinians, major natural disasters have occurred in the US. And let me remind you that Palestine was not in God’s perfect plan. The Palestinians are descendents of Ishmael, which if you remember your Sunday school lesson was the son of Abraham’s hand maiden when Abraham tried to fulfill God’s plan his own way.
On the visual you will this word twice, peace. Well, nothing’s bad about peace right? Wrong! Yes, God wants peace, but in his way, and timing. Now with the US trying to bring peace in their timing, don’t you think we would have some consequences just like Abraham???
Briefly, before I go on to the events leading up to Katrina I would like to clarify a few points about visual number one. All of these events have something to do with Israelis giving up their land. The Oslo Accord is a “peace treaty.” What this treaty states is that in exchange for the Land in Israel, the Palestians will give the israel’s peace. What this means in a blunt fashion is that, you give us your land and we will stop killing you. And the US backed that up? Yes, they did.
If you will, picture this scene with me now: Several middle-eastern homes lined up along the bank of a great river. Beautiful, maybe not so much in landscaping, but in the families you see living there. Now picture the self same place, early in August 2005, part of our president’s “Roadmap to Peace”. You can find many things in that picture. But one thing you will not find, is peace. You will find however, families torn from homes that may have been in their family for generations, Palestinian soldiers literally dragging the Jewish people from their homes, bulldozers unmercifully destroying these people’s single means of shelter. Only to give their land to people who are willing and desiring to kill them and wishing to see their entire people, murdered. And why are they doing this? Well the US told them to. August 23rd marked the day that these evil plans, were completed. It also marked the beginning of an unassuming little tropical storm named, Katrina. You can read for yourself about the plans that every human know how would have planned for that storm to go and logically, should have gone. However, God’s wrath knows no limitations. Yet you would think that after all these years, people would begin to understand about the consequences for their actions. Well, obviously not.
To conclude I would like to quote Dr. Terry Watkins, a wide written pastor of today’s time. He said, “If America continues to blatantly defy the Word of God with their hostility and hypocrisy toward God’s heritage, Israel, buckle up…you ain’t seen nothin’ yet”
So what do y'all think? I love subjects like this because not a lot of people have heard of it. And when you say it they look at you like you have lost your mind (that tends to happen a lot to me! hehe) Ok, I better get scat now. Oh and if you read this, please comment so I know that lisa isn't the only one who reads this! Take Care y'all!
